Saturday in D.C.

Saturday morning we got up at the crack of dawn to make it to the White House by our 8:30 AM tour.

This is the view from mine and Jared's room... beautiful! but doesn't that look early! :)
.
The White House was beautiful but we were unable to take pics inside. :)
.
We didn't eat much for breakfast so by the time our tour was over I needed to be fed!! BAD!
So, Paul and I got a yummy hot dog from a stand.

Super Obama t-shirts were located in every souvenir stand in DC.
-
After our tour we walked toward The Mall wanting to take a pic of the White House… cops and barriers were keeping us from a good pic shot… apparently Obama decided to take a stroll in his front yard and all streets were closed to onlookers like us.

More pics.
He looks a little like Cisco, doesn't he?

-
After our stroll we headed back to get Dan the Van from The Willard Hotel, where we parked him.Ashley, me and Sarah waiting on the guys to get Dan the Van.
.
The only monument I cared about seeing was the Jefferson Memorial b/c when I visited Jess in 2006 we drove around forever trying to get to it but never could. This time not only did we have Jane, my GPS, but Shaun, who had been there before. ;)
We had to walk a ways after we witnessed some major road rage but it was worth it. :)

While the guys contemplated how Jefferson would have felt about Obama's politics, the ladies sat outside... it was a gorgeous day!

Sarah couldn't help but pet the cute dogs that we saw. :)

After visiting the Jefferson Memorial we headed back to the bay house for some sun. :)

.

More to come...

The picture of us walking to the Jefferson Memorial you can see Ashley with her gimp foot. Poor Ashley, but you were a trooper.
